The primary gameplay loop operates across two interconnected interfaces: the upper mosaic canvas and the lower sorting workbench. The sorting workbench displays shelves loaded with layered stacks of multi-colored gems. Players tap and transfer gems between shelves to group identical colors together. Once a specific color grouping is completed or a target gem set is cleared from the workbench, those gems are automatically transferred to their matching coordinates on the pixel mosaic above. The piece snaps into place with a subtle lighting effect, filling in part of the underlying image.

This hybrid structure balances mechanical sorting logic with artistic completion. The sorting mechanic requires careful management of shelf space: mismanaging open slots can jam the workbench with mismatched stones, preventing access to the specific colors needed to complete sections of the canvas. Conversely, seeing the mosaic portrait emerge provides clear visual progress that encourages thoughtful shelf organization.
