Coromon

Developed by independent studio TRAGSOFT and published by Freedom Games, Coromon is a classic 2D monster-taming JRPG designed as a homage to the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS eras of creature-collecting games. Set within the vibrant region of Velua, players assume the role of an ambitious Battle Researcher employed by the technological organization Lux Solis. When a mysterious organization threatens to harvest the elemental power of Velua's Titans, players must embark on an adventure across six interconnected zones to catch, train, and battle over 120 unique creatures.

Coromon modernizes classic turn-based combat mechanics through its Stamina system. Instead of traditional individual move Power Points (PP), every creature shares a unified Stamina energy bar. High-damage elemental attacks consume larger amounts of stamina, requiring players to weigh aggressive bursts against spending turns resting to recover energy. Furthermore, creatures possess a distinct "Potential" rating that determines whether they manifest as Standard, Potent, or Perfect variants. Higher potential tiers feature alternative color palettes and grant extra stat customization points upon leveling up, providing a clear progression path for competitive trainers.

The title stands out for its customizability and player accessibility features. Directly within the save creation menu, players can enable built-in Nuzlocke rulesets—enforcing permanent creature fainting and route catching limits—or activate full Randomizer settings without relying on third-party modifications. Monetization follows a transparent "try-before-you-buy" model. The initial story chapter is free to play, requiring a single $4.99 in-app purchase to unlock the complete main narrative. Outside of purely optional cosmetic researcher outfits, Coromon avoids gacha mechanics and aggressive microtransactions.
